Progress, not perfection
There's no such thing as perfection, apparently. So what is there instead? If pursuing perfection isn't an option, what should we strive for? If we aim for imperfection when do we know we're done? What does success look like in an imperfect world?
But even if you could reach perfection, what do you do next? Where could you go from there that isn't down?
Best to leave perfection alone and focus on progress instead. Progress is measurable and can be celebrated. Progress is only a little way away. Progress can be done in all directions so when you reach a deadend, you can take a new direction.
It's tempting to seek perfection, that ideal of success but if you aim for progress instead, little by little by little you might even get very close to perfection after all - and it might look very different to what you thought.
