Star employees are very valuable: they always get things done, they are miles ahead of everyone else in their thinking, you're almost certain they can predict the future and they catch everything you throw at them. They are focused, open and fast.
But you can't have a team full of stars, it won't work. You need people at all levels to create a harmonius team and to take on a variety of tasks: someone is going to have to tackle that repetitive task that can't be automated and it won't be one of the stars.
Be kind and tolerant towards those who don't shine as brightly, because you need them as much as the others. Welcome the distracted, the loose cannons, the rebels, the inexperienced. They will be harder work but it's your role, as team member or team manager, to help them on their way.
