Be like the Northern Star, guide them without telling them what to do

Because you can’t be there all the time, because what works for you won’t work for them, because you don’t know the details, because part of your job is to let them work out what works and what doesn’t, because you don’t have time to do their work for them, because you don’t want to be a micromanager, because they might just surprise you with the solutions they come up with.

Give them a goal, make sure it’s highly visible and that it doesn’t shift, and let them make their way to it.
