Seniority is not maturity
Seniority is the fact of having been in a place or position for longer than others; while maturity is the ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner. (And seniority is not a sign of competence but proof of adaptability in an environment).
Sharing difficult decisions, scary information or uncertain outcomes with senior members of the team can have devastating consequences for everyone if they are not mature enough to handle the situation.
Identify the mature members of your team (they can hide in the strangest places) and leave the senior members do what they do best and deliver quality to your product.
