Being responsible for something requires knowing what is happening and what is going to happen. Driving requires having an excellent view of the road ahead and around you.
This doesn’t mean being pthat you need to be part of every meeting or discussion: let them talk things over, think out loud, bounce ideas around and plan. They will come up with crazy ideas, insanely expensive solutions, stupid strategies. Let them talk it out.
You just need to be involved at the last stage before objectives are communicated and work is assigned.
Don’t fear seeing them in a room with white boards filled withhair raising discussion points – just put in place a workflow where you make yourself the decision-maker in the last phase so you can stop anything that isn't a good idea.
